Renowned yacht brokerage Red Ensign has opened a new sales office at Plymouth’s King Point Marina.

Red Ensign has expanded into the heart of the coastal quarter in Britain’s Ocean City, opening a new office at Millbay-based at King Point Marina, which is operated by Sutton Harbour Holdings Plc. The company had previously been solely based in Falmouth for the past 11 years.

Red Ensign will be based on the ground floor in the marina building, offering a comprehensive brokerage service for yachts and motorboats. The brokerage company is the South West’s largest independent yacht broker, assisting buyers and sellers across the UK, Europe and beyond.

David Triggs of Red Ensign, said: “This is an exciting time for us as we expand the company and open up new facilities. The move to King Point Marina felt logical to us as we already have clients in the Plymouth and surrounding area, and are looking to expand and offer a more local service to Devon customers.

“King Point Marina is a great facility and we were aware of it when it first opened. The marina is new, fresh and the area around it is continuing to grow, so this is a great opportunity for us to be a part of something new. Having been based in Falmouth for the past 11 years, we are taking a long term view about being in Plymouth as well.”

The £4million King Point Marina was developed by waterfront regeneration specialists Sutton Harbour Holdings Plc and officially opened in October 2013, after eight months of work to transform the inner basin of the former Millbay docks. The marina has sheltered berthing for 171 vessels ranging in size from 7.5 to 25 metres, with first class shoreside facilities including fantastic showers, toilets and amenity areas for berth holders.

Mark Brimacombe, Marina Manager for Sutton Harbour Holdings Plc, said: “We are delighted that such a successful company as Red Ensign is expanding its offices to open at King Point Marina. We have some great facilities on offer at this new marina development, and think this move will be hugely beneficial for all involved. “We are looking forward to working with the Red Ensign team to grow their business and King Point Marina together.”

Red Ensign is moving into office space previously occupied by KTK Prime Yachts, a company which has now ceased trading.
